The faculty of English language was founded on the basis of Romanic – Germanic languages, which used to be called the faculty of foreign languages. Since September 1, 2005, of foreign languages faculty on the basis, in coordination with the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Tajikistan, a faculty of Romano-Germanic languages was created. The first specialties of the faculty: Russian language and literature with additional specialization in English and Russian and literature with additional specialization in German were created in 1992, and English (translator) - in 1993. Until the 2019-2020 school year, teachers and translators were trained from English, German and French. The, students are trained in 10 specialties on a contract basis, free of charge and through the Presidential quota. At the faculty:

Since August 2019, by the decision of the Academic Council of the Institute, the English language faculty was renamed, and students were enrolled in 7 specialties:

There are 1262 students at the faculty and 753 of them are girls and 371 students (118 by quota) are enrolled in budget groups. The faculty includes 202 foreign students from the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republic of Turkmenistan, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan
Currently, there are 3 departments at the faculty - the department of English philology, the department of grammar and translation theory, the department methods of teaching, depending on the direction of their activity, the existing specialties at the faculty are attached to them: at the Department of English Philology, specialties 1-210502-08 - foreign language (English), 1-020307-03 - English. Technologies (services); at the Department of Grammar and Translation Theory 1-210601-02 - modern foreign languages (translation, English); 1-210601-02.02 - literary translation (English), 1-23.01.02.01 - linguistic support of legal-English-Russian activities and at the department of teaching methods in the specialties 1-01-010203 - pre-school education. English, 1-010202-05 - primary education. English language.
The function of the faculty is important for the implementation of the "State program to improve the teaching and learning of Russian and English in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2015-2020", and the work is carried out in accordance with the plan.
The main areas of activity:
- training the highly qualified specialists - teachers and professional translators from English, German and French;
- conducting scientific research on the learning and teaching of English, German and French;
- Conducting seminars, round tables and conferences on the learning and teaching of English, German and French;
