Faculty of Asian languages taking into account changes in the structure of the state educational institution "State Institute of languages of Tajikistan named after Sotim Ulugzolda" by the decision of the Academic Council #11/6-1 from 28.06.2019 was converted from the form of Oriental languages into” Asian languages.
The faculty is based on some specialties of the faculty of foreign languages and the faculty of Tajik and Russian Philology by the decision of the academic Council of the Tajik State Institute of languages #1 from12.09.2005. This decision led to the following specializations and departments under the faculty

In addition, the specialty of Tajik language and literature in the Department of Correspondence Education was transferred to the jurisdiction of the Faculty of Asian Languages (formerly Oriental languages).
The first dean of the Faculty of Asian Languages was Isrofilov Sharifmurod Rahimovich (from 26.08.2005 #31-6ш ”а” to 03.12.2006 #79-6faA from 03.12.2006). Then by the order of the Rector of the Institute Jabborova M under -679-6faA from 03.12.2006 was assigned to Mirzoeva Mahina Melikovna. Mirzoeva Mahina Melikovna was relieved of this post by the order of the Rector of the Institute under the number #136-fo from 11.09.2008, and by this order this position was assigned to docent Vosieva Rukhshona Kurbanovna. She held this responsible position until December 2010. Then Professor Mahmadjonov Olimjon Obidjonovich by the order of the Rector of the Institute under #1-хк from 03.01.2011 was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Asian Languages. Mahmadjonov Olimjon Obidjonovich was voluntarily relieved of his post on 31.01.2013 by the order number #27-хк from 11.02.2013. From 01.02.2013 to 10.07.2015, Ahmadsho Saidov was the dean of this faculty. Since September 28, 2015, the candidate of pedagogical Sciences, Kayumov Abdulmain Jumakhonovich has been appointed as the Dean of the faculty of Asian languages.
Students majoring in Chinese language (translator) in 2000, Oriental philology (Arabic-English) (translator) in 2003, Persian philology (Persian-English) (translator) in 2003, Korean language (translator) in 2004, language Japanese (translator) in 2004, when the disciplines of these specialties were subordinated to the Faculty of Foreign Languages within the Department of Oriental Languages (the first head of the department was elected by the order of the rector of the Institute under 73-6sh from 21.10.2004 Isoev Mahmadrahim), which was headed by Astanova Ziyoda Khalikovna.
In 2005, after the establishment of the faculty, the Department of Oriental Languages was transferred from the jurisdiction of the Faculty of Foreign Languages to the Faculty of Asian Languages (formerly Oriental Languages). From 2006 to 2009 Samadov Tuychiboy was the head of the Department of Oriental Languages. From February 2009 to October 2011 the post of Head of the Department of Foreign Oriental Languages was assigned to one of the specialists in Oriental philology Ikromsho Khushvakhtovich Sattorov. It should be noted that during this period the department hired specialists in the field and introduced a unified system of education, which has continued to this day and has achieved significant success. From October 2011 the position of the head of the department was assigned to Maksudov Hasanboy Abdulloevich. It should be noted that the contribution of Hasanboy Maksudov in the development of the department and the establishment of cooperation with foreign embassies in the Republic of Tajikistan is very significant. In addition, at the suggestion of Maksudov Hasanboy the department was divided into two specialized departments, the Department of Middle Eastern Languages (the first head of the department was appointed Maksudov Hasanboy Abdulloevich) and the Department of Southeast Asian Languages (the first head was appointed Shoev Rahmatullo).
In the meantime, in 2015-2016, the position of Head of the Department of Near Eastern Languages was assigned to the candidate of philological sciences, associate professor Mukhtorova Farahbonu Sattorovna, and in 2017-2018 to Safarov Mehrojiddin Abdulvohidovich.
Then in 2012 the specialty of Chinese language-informatics and in 2016 the specialty of language and local studies (Indo-English) (translator-referent of Indo-English languages) were established.
In August 2018, by the decision of the Academic Council of the Institute #1/ 4-6 from 29.08.2018, the Department of Middle Eastern Languages and the Department of Southeast Asian Languages were merged and renamed the Department of Oriental Philology. The head of the department was Maksudov Hasanboy Abdulloevich.
It should be noted that by this decision, the Department of Informatics and Natural Mathematics was converted in the form of the Department of Informatics and Information and Communication Technology, became a specialty department of the Faculty of Asian Languages and the head of the department was Sultonhaidarov Nuriddin.
It should be added that due to changes in the structure of the Institute, by the decision of the Academic Council of the Institute #1 / 3-3 from 28,08,2019 and the order of the Rector of the Tajik State Institute of Languages named after Sotim Ulugzoda #99-od from 29,08,2019 the Department of Oriental Philology was renamed into two new departments, the Department of Philology of the Near East (Head of the Department Tursunov G.) and the Department of Philology of East and South Asian Languages (Head of Department Saidzoda B). It should be added that until now, after Shoev Rahmatullo, the head of the Department of Southeast Asian Languages was Tursunov Golib (2015-2017), Nasrulloev Muhammad (2017).
The Department of Informatics and Information and Communication Technology was renamed the Department of Informatics and Natural and Mathematical Sciences by the decision of the Academic Council #11 / 6-1 from 28.06.2019 and was established as a department of general education.

It should be noted that over the past four years, 340 students in 6 specialties: 178 with a degree in Chinese-translator, 40 with a degree in Japanese-translator, 25 with a degree in Korean-translator, 63 with a degree in translation. 19 people graduated from the Faculty of Asian Languages with a degree in Translator-Referee Arabic, 19 students were specialized as a Translator-Referee of Persian and 15 as a specialist on Chinese-Informatics and graduated from the faulty of Asian languages.
